[Blog Translation: AKIHIDE] Day of Sowing.

Little by little, through gaps of falling snow, the blue sky is starting to peek through.
It’s a windless, seemingly calm early afternoon.

Today is the release date of the picture book, “Aru Hi, Kokoro ga Kakemashita.”

I don’t remember exactly when I first thought
“I want to make a picture book,” but
I think the picture books my mother gives me whenever I have my birthday
Planted seeds in my heart.

The picture book’s original text comes from words I collected in my third year of junior high.
I didn’t even write them on a notebook
They’re words that simply never left my heart.

And then, having drawn pictures out of them, having made them into a book
Today, their journey begins.

The seeds I received have sprouted and bloomed
And now they fly to those who’ve taken the book into their hands.
And if, in turn, it also plants some kind of “seed” to those hearts , I would be happy.

On this winter day that waits for spring,
I think these thoughts.
